Ten on Tuesday: 10 Songs You Hate

1. Send in the Clowns - Judy Collins (shudders)

2. Anything by Rush - it makes me want to break things.

3. Anything by Soulja Boy. He can't spell (and I really do not care if I spell his name right either) or use proper grammar to the extent that it is overdone and just plain annoying. My brain can't rearrange/replace letters fast enough. Again, it makes me want to break things.

4. Metallica - Turn the Page.

5. Anything w too much autotune or that odd synthesizer vocals. Sing people... for real.

6. My Heart Will Go On - Celine Dion Flagline practice to this song was bad enough. The beginning makes me want to swing a large sequined flag over my head while kneeling in mud.
Then IT was part of concert band.

7. Mmmbop - Hanson. Earworm atroscity that is now stuck in my head. Grr.

8. Angel - Sarah McLaughlin. I used to love this song. It used to be able to be seen as somewhat romantic until is got used for tragedies and dog/pet related commercials.

9. Hero - Enrique Ingelsias. It makes me cry no matter what.

10. Party in My Tummy - Yo Gabba Gabba. Annoying and why don't they chew the food that goes to the party. That's a choking hazard.

...that never ends...

I am working on a scarf that has channelled Lamb Chop though I am not talking about the fleecy wisecracking hand puppet. I'm talking about the theme from the show. The scarf has taken it, altered the lyrics and is now mocking me.

This is the scarf that never ends
Yes it goes on and on my friend
Some gal started knitting it
Thinking what a simple pattern it was
And she'll continue knitting it
Forever just because...

(Repeat forever with tempo matching the speed of my needles.)

I thought it was a good idea. A "simple" 4 x 4 rib is something I really like due to it being straightforward in style with just enough of a wavey flow to it. On size 10- or in this case 10- 1/2 needles, it's deep enough to give room for smooshing yet not too deep where you look like some sort of creature is strangling you. I made myself one in a light grey years go. I thought I was safe.

I got the yarn I needed and got to work. Then there was the hiatus. I saw hiatus when I should say lull. Realistically I should say that they only yarn out was the random skeins stuck in the bookshelf ( and their removal made P, my husband very pleased.) Wedding plans, getting settled into new house, and changing random legal things from a name no one could pronounce or spell to a more "standard" name took the scarf's time. It got some time but not enough to please it so it got angry.

It now mocks me. If a scarf could tisk I think it would. Rather it just makes sure the yarn tangles up enough when I get on a roll. I knitted and knitted. Then it was two WIPs so I knitted and I knitted. The second, the baby wrap blanket soon was abandoned once it was almost done and resembled more of a baby taco than the baby burrito is was hinted at by a similar pattern. I know my gauge was right. I think the scarf did it. It scared it.

Knit knit knit knit growl knit knit knit. Check progress.... oh look if two inches. Check clock....oh look it's time for bed, well 2 hours ago. I get discouraged and of course that means new WIP. The Hawks scarf just flies after a slight snag being losing bamboo circulars and a supersaver skein of black yarn. (I think it was a sign bc then I knit it double strand and it was just right.) Even throughout tho the scarf is out and worked on. It continues to mock me.

So now it is again one of two WIPS. One can wait a bit since garter stitch is something that always works when watching television. It's up on the shelf not quick hidden since A, my best friend "found" it last night. It really needs to go in the closet where it is out of sight.

I am determined to finish the scarf though. Two late nights of "thinking" I would have it done ended up with it having a yarney victory and me heading upstairs to bed bleary eyed and muttering once again that I'd finish it tomorrow.

....on and on my friend.... hm hm hmmm hm hmmm....
