At least it wasn't raining sideways...

After living in the Chicago area your entire life, there is one thing that is always unpredictable, the weather. (Well that is unless it's 15 mins before I leave work, then it will rain/snow/sleet/srain/lob ice chips at your head or one of my favs - be so windy you get trapped up against a pole/post/side of building.) The Yarn Harlot event was cancelled tonite since Stephanie couldn't leave Toronto to get to Chicago. I was really really hoping it all would have worked out when they said that she was delayed due to the flight but after reading her blog, while inhaling a uber nutritious McDs dinner, I can see that the chance was super slight that she'd even make it. The event is to be rescheduled so N and I will be heading back there. We both just hope that we're not out of town on already scheduled trips.

It was really cool to see the various knitters though. (I said hello to a few but w this being one of the first time in way to long I saw N we chatted ourselves. ) I've never joined a knitting group mostly bc I do not know of one that works w my work schedule. The all ages aspect of it was cool down to the ity bity in the baby sling w the frog hat. Of course now a frog hat is on my list, though I think making an actual hat should be done first.

I added to my yarn stash today by buying this wacky lime green blue mix. It's nothing fancy quality wise but I think it'd be a fun idea for my first sock attempt. I have the double pointed needles. Now I just have to find a good pattern. Worse case I can try baby booties and use The Puppy as a model. I don't know if she'd like it but it'd be funny. Ok I take that back. If I do doggie booties I think I'll use old post-frogging yarn.

Though thinking of dogs and knitting, I'll prob end up making her a sweater. I have the dog knits book from M. The Husband will be rolling his eyes. That I know.

Yarn Harlot

Tonight is the meet/greet/book signing for the Yarn Harlot's latest book. I'm so excited. N & I have been talking about going to a coffee place to chat & knit for ages. It all kept being pushed back due to whatever random thing and most recently the wedding/house stuff. This will be amusing esp since I plan to wear my knitting shirt.

I'm tempted to try to get on Ravelry since I've heard raved reviews about it but I know it is a yarn-ey vortex of goodness. One that will suck me in and not want to let me go so I can finish the other projects around here. I know I'll still go ahead and sign up.

I've been all excited about gardening this week and now have a day off today. It's windy, like screen door will try to attack the side of the house windy if you don't hang onto it. Oh well. Maybe it's a sign to cut faster? The bushes need it. I'm thinking perhaps blitz mode.

Now the true test is if I can get errands done in less than 2 hrs. I highly doubt it. :p
